To acquire accreditation each lung function facility will need to achieve acceptance in all of the following key criteria;

  1. Appropriately trained staff (with qualifications where possible)
  2. Complete departmental operating manual (The Policy manual and Procedure manual, could be based on ATS/ERS standards)
  3. Robust quality control procedures with evidence of regular checks.
  4. Reliable and accurate lung function equipment with up-to-date maintenance logs.
